 Dr. James Raiford is a native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He and his wife Delores have been married since 1957 and have three married children, seven grandchildren, and reside in Jacksonville, FL. He was led to Christ by his sister in the summer of 1952 and was called to preach later that summer under the teaching of the late Dr. S. Lewis Johnson of Dallas Theological Seminary.
Education:
Dr. Raiford graduated from Southeastern Bible College in Birmingham, Alabama in 1965 with a Bachelor of Arts degree with a pre-seminary emphasis. He earned a Master of Theology degree from Dallas Theological Seminary in 1969, a Doctor of Ministry degree from Dallas Theological Seminary in 1990, and was the recipient of the John G. Mitchell award at that graduation.

- Director of the Gulf Coast Bible Conference in Biloxi, MS.
- Assistant Pastor and Youth Pastor at Reeves Independent Congregational Church, Reeves, LA.
- Interim Pastor to several churches in Louisiana and Alabama.
- Founding Pastor of the Bible Center Church in Luling, LA, Berean Bible Church in New Orleans, LA, and Shades Mountain Bible Church in Birmingham, AL.
- Senior Pastor of the Park Drive Baptist Church in Hillsboro, TX, First Bible Church in Decatur, AL, and McCalla Bible Church in McCalla, AL.
 His
love for teaching and preaching was amplified through his ministry
as the Chairman of the Pastoral Studies Department at Southeastern
Bible College in 1974-1981. At his alma mater he also became the Academic
Dean of the college and graduate school. In 1990 he became the chairman
of the Pastoral Studies Department of Calvary Bible College in Kansas
City, MO and also served as the Academic Dean and Vice President of
the college and Academic Dean of Calvary Theological Seminary.
He presently has an extensive speaking ministry in revivals, Bible
conferences, seminars, and retreats/camps. In 2004, he organized
and incorporated James Raiford Ministries, Inc. as a non-profit
Bible conference and publishing ministry during retirement.
